Karna, a pivotal character in the Mahabharata, is known for his exceptional skills as a warrior and his complex, tragic life story. Born to Queen Kunti and the sun god Surya, Karna's life began with abandonment. Unaware of his royal lineage, he was raised by a charioteer, which subjected him to societal scorn and prejudice.

Despite these challenges, Karna's innate nobility and martial prowess shone through. He became an unparalleled archer, rivalling even Arjuna, the greatest archer of the Pandavas.

His golden armour and earrings, gifts from his divine father, symbolized his extraordinary heritage and protected him in battle, adding to his mystique and strength.

Karna's unwavering loyalty to Duryodhana, the eldest Kaurava, defined much of his life's trajectory. Grateful for Duryodhana’s unwavering friendship and support when others rejected him, Karna pledged his allegiance to him, even when it meant opposing his own brothers, the Pandavas, whom he discovered were his siblings only much later in life.

Karna’s character is marked by his adherence to a strict code of honour and his deep sense of personal integrity. He is often portrayed as a tragic hero, whose virtues and flaws are both magnified by his circumstances.
